Paradise Cove was exactly what a girl like Chloe Finnley needed. It was indeed what it was named, paradise. Traveling the world was what a lot of people dreamed of - seeing things they've only seen in movies, or magazines. Chloe already lived that dream, many many times, so being in one place for a solid period of time? Yeah, that was more of a dream for her. Being an actress was so, overrated. Yes, she did love it, yes she was thankful for everything, but sometimes...it felt good to pretend she was normal, and not a movie/television star. So, that was exactly what she was going to do for the next few hours - or days. Pretend she was normal, very very normal.
Chloe Finnley was told to stay in her hotel room until her security guard came back from 'sorting out some details'. But, after watching TV, ordering room service and jumping on her bed, well...it got boring. He won't mind if I go take a dip in the pool the sixteen year old thought casually. Gerald was almost like a father to Chloe, even more then her own father was. But then again, she was barely around her father growing up, and she always thought he preferred it that way. Chloe sighed and thought of the possibilities. She could go, and have some fun before the day was over and possibly get in trouble, or stay and drown in boredom and not get into trouble. I'll take my chances she smirked as the rebellious thoughts crossed her mind. This was such a Chloe like thing to do, she would do something wrong, and apologize fifty times until she was forgiven. It's not like she meant to do anything wrong, it just sorta..happened.
Exactly Fifteen minutes later, Chloe Finnley made her way towards the resorts outdoor pool. She smiled as she walked, her large sunglasses covering most of her skinny face. She had a short flowing mini dress on, and underneath that was her turquoise bikini she had gotten in Madrid a few months before. When finally arriving at the pool, her dark chocolate eyes scanned the scene before her. It was about four in the afternoon, and the sun was shining beautifully. Chloe took a few minutes to enjoy the suns warmth against her face. The sixteen year old settled for a long chair that was facing the sun and stripped off her sun dress. She suddenly stopped, and looking around the pool quickly, noting that there were only a few people at the pool, which was odd. Chloe went for the idea that there was an event of some sort going on and that's where everyone was. The redhead preferred the pool like that anyways. For an actress of her talent, she lacked some self-confidence, and always stuttered and got embarrassed when people complimented her. So standing in the middle of a pool with two very small articles of clothing on her, didn't help.
Chloe sat down on the long chair and took off her glasses, letting her skin absorb the hot sun. "I'm going to burn" She mumbled to herself and pulled out a bottle of tanning oil, at least with that she would get a tan. Chloe squeezed a reasonable amount of the oil onto the palm of her hand and began to spread it evenly on her legs. About two minutes later, her legs, stomach, face and arms all had the oil on and her skin glistened. She giggled to herself and squeezed some more onto her palm, and stretched her arm back and tried to apply some on her back, but failed. She groaned and tried again. I probably got half my back, and the other half is going to burn like a son of a b- She stopped her thoughts short and rolled her eyes, no need to get frustrated. She sat there for a few moments wondering what to do. The girl hadn't exactly planned on what she was going to do once she got to the pool, swimming was an idea, but tanning was another. So, instead of making any sudden decisions, she just sat on the chair, cross legged and closed her eyes.

Another day at work, another day spent convincing people to buy things they shouldn’t. It was a shame, really, how a flash of blue eyes and a slight compliment would get anyone to do anything. All mac had to do was stand there, let them drool, and move on a few minutes later. He gave a grin to the preteens that send then tittering to their mothers when they walked in, and he did the usual. Hi, how can I help you? Im good, too. How many? Five, great, I’ve got a table for you right over here. How is everybody today? Awesome, you’re server will be right with you. And that was all it took, just a few sly looks when the parents weren’t looking, and there would be spills and special orders and plenty of tips. That was the only reason he did this job, the tips. A lot of girls his age came to this place, and it was easy to smooze money out of them, and even out of their pants, if he got lucky. And usually, he got lucky. Mac turned away from the table with a smirk, pushing his dark hair back so he could use his eyes more efficiently.
Mac checked his watch as he walked back toward the kitchen, sighing. He only had ten minutes left before his shift was over for the morning. He convinced his boss to let him work from late morning to early afternoon so he could party his ass off. He didn’t use those words, but it was pretty obvious. He pushed open the door to the kitchen and winked at a bus girl as he walked by. He could practically feel her swooning; the poor girl was putty in his hands. Mac grabbed a soda from the chef’s fridge, ignoring the head cooks annoyed grunt as he took a sip of it. “It’s hot out today.” He shrugged, laughing as the tall german man rolled his eyes. Mac set it down, wiping his mouth on his lips and heading out, chatting up more of the potential customers. Time flew by and he waved goodbye to his work friends, pulling off the stuffy shirt he was wearing as he headed out the back door. He stood out by the back door and took off his black pants, revealing a pair of blue board shorts that his ex girlfriend had gushed about them ‘bringing out his blue eyes’. Crazy bitch. The boy looked around at the pool, seeing only a few people.
Mac pulled off his work shirt, wearing a plaid button up underneath. He rolled up the sleeves and grabbed his aviators from his pocket, sliding them on his face. Mac took another look around the pool, closer this time. He spotted a girl with bright red hair sitting across the other side, facing him. A cocky smile slipped onto his face as he saw her struggling with her lotion. Could this be any more cliché? No, probably not. Time to seize the moment. Mac went back inside the kitchen and grabbed another soda, letting his work clothes fall onto the floor next to the fridge. He walked back out to the pool, making his way to where the adorable red head was desperately trying to reach her back. As he came closer, he realized he knew her from somewhere. After a moment of confusion, he realized she was famous. He raised an eyebrow and chuckled to himself. A celebrity sitting outside by herself, just waiting to be pounced on. Well, he wasn’t going to pounce in the literal sense of the word. He made the final steps toward her and put on a happy face, sitting on the lounge chair across from her. Mac set the sodas on the small table between them and pulled off his sunlasses, grinning sideways. “Hey, I’m Mackenzie.” He said in his ‘seductive’ tone. “Call me Mac.” He held out a hand to her, leaning closer over his knees.
notes;ooo this is really short and bad. it'll get better with more prompting, promise. and im too lazy to find a pretty thread template. so deal. haa.

As the minutes passed, it felt like hours...at least to Chloe. She let the suns heat tickle her face as she enjoyed the warmth. Whenever a day as beautiful as today was, Chloe made sure to be thankful for it. She could be living in poverty, or somewhere where it only snows for the year, so days like this made Chloe feel...extra special. She smiled widely, keeping her eyes closed. She then leaned back on the chair, and gave her body up for relaxation. She adjusted her hair and bathing suit, making sure to get as much sun as possible to create the perfect glow of a tan. She sighed and listened to the sounds around her, letting the distant chatter of people become soft blurs of sound at the back of her head. She focused on one thing, and that was the sound of the water. It wasn't like the sound of the actual ocean, but it was close enough. And seeing as she couldn't go to the actual ocean, she would have to settle for a fake one. So, she let the pool's water sounds soothe her, back and forth the waves went. Back and forth...
“Hey, I’m Mackenzie.”she heard a voice say, a voice that was close to her. "Call me Mac". "Good Jesus!" She yelped and her eyes snapped open, and then snapped shut again. She forgot about the power of the sun. She slowly opened them, and let her eyes adjust to the light. She sat up and turned towards the voice. It was a boy, maybe a little bit older than her, one or two years max. She opened and closed her mouth like a handicapped fish. SNAP OUT OF IT! a voice commanded in the sixteen year old's head. But..but..but...he's so...hot? She responded back. Oh god, I'm going crazy Chloe thought. This was what happened - a lot. Being a celebrity, she was bound to have some...cute fans, cute male fans. So, whenever they approached her she always froze up. Even if this guy wasn't a fan, he was still uber cute. With his shaggy brown hair and very attractive looking outfit, well yeah, Chloe would say he was uber cute as hell. Breathe..breathe Chloe listened. I wonder what his eyes look like... She breathed deeply, You're such a creepy fan girl, and you don't even know him! The voice commanded back. And then, just as quickly as she snapped into the trance, she was out.
"UMMMMM, I'm Chloe!" She said a tad too loudly - Smooooothhhh moveee. The red head hesitated for a moment, and finally shook his hand back and released it quickly. She sat cross legged in his direction, hands in her lap. Awkwardness seemed to fill the air, which tended to happen when Chloe froze up. "Nice to m-meet you M-Mac" she stuttered and gave him a weak smile. Awkwardness. Again. Chloe sighed and ran a hand through her thick red hair, obviously not natural or course. She let her a few bright red strands of her bangs fall in front of her eyes, trying to make herself appear innocent and sexy at the same time - like Sally Morrison, a 'friendly' character she had once played in a movie. This is such a fail...I probably look like a child, not a confident sixteen year old girl. Chloe focused her bright brown eyes towards her hands and began to play with them. Ask him something! her inner voice directed. "SOO, Mac..." She began confidently "What brings you to the pool today? Just...hanging out?...Going for a swim?" Yeah, that confidence? It drained into a weak tone by the time she got to 'brings you'.
